Last year's Ottawa Run For Palestine was a resounding success. We managed to raise $40,000 C.D for the United Nations' Community Mental Health Programme for Palestinian children suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. This represents hundreds of hours of therapy for Palestinian children struggling to cope with their traumatic memories of war and adjust to the dire circumstances of life in Gaza.
More than 575 registered runners participated and more than 1000 supporters showed up for the day's activities including a medal ceremony, live singing, Palestinian D.J. music, bouncy castles, Balloon making, henna artist, arts and crafts and a full menu of Palestinian food.
Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, and friends who made this event possible. See you on Sunday September 25, 2016 for our second run!
